Couses are aimed at the beginner and keen amateur photographers with the desire to "Get out of Auto" and take control of the camera. we will cover basic "Modes" featured within your camera. Then progress on to full "Manual" settings. This is when you can really get creative by having the full potential of your cameras ability at your finger tips. For students who already have a basic understanding and would like to take their ability's to the next level I can tailor make causes to suit your needs.

1:1 Beginners tuition Full Day £250

Beginners 1 Day workshop of minimum of 6, up to 10 students £80 Per Person.

1:1 Flash photography Full Day £300 (aimed at students with basic knowledge). Learn to balance ambient light with flash, also turn day into night with powerful studio flash. Model shoots can be arranged if required at additional cost. 

What you will learn.
EXPOSURE; Understand light and shadow and how best to set your camera for all kinds of light situations by use of the ISO, Aperture and shutter speed to shoot everything from high-key images, moody low key, arresting motion  to long exposures with blurry skies and sea. 
COMPOSITION; Develop an eye for good composition, get creative with viewpoints and learn basic compositional rules to help give your pictures more impact. 
DETAILS; As well as dramatic Landscapes and seascapes, we'll look at the using pattern, texture and depth of field creatively to further enhance your imagery. 
CRITIQUE; Throughout the workshop I will give you feedback on the pictures you take and advice on how to improve where needed. 
PROCESSING; You will learn how to process RAW files that we've taken during the day to really get the best out of them. Lightroom is  fast becoming the industry standard for editing and processing images and will be used to demonstrate my work flow techniques. 

WHERE WE WILL LEARN; The Rhins of Galloway, South West Scotland. We are blessed with some of the most beautiful and spectacular scenery in Scotland, here in the far south west of Scotland. We will visit such places like Logan Botanical Gardens  Full of sub-tropical flora and landscaped grounds. Portpatrick, a sleepy fishing village with stunning harbour and light house, ruined castles and quaint cottages. Portlogan, Beautiful beaches, abandoned lighthouse and harbour wall and seas that stretch out to Ireland and beyond.

The Torrs Warren Country House This is a lovely peaceful hideaway in the village of Stonykirk and set in tranquil Galloway country side.

 The Water Front This guest house is set in the heart of Portpatrick its self.  Offering first class accommodation with sea views and fine food. 

WHAT YOU WILL NEED; A DSLR camera ( or a camera with manual settings available). Ideally a tripod and a laptop with your preferred editing suite. All weather clothing and a sturdy pair of boots. As this is Scotland weather can not be guaranteed, so its always best to have waterproofs should they be needed. 

NOT INCLUDED IN PRICE; food & accommodation or entrance fees to gardens. Travel to and from the hotels to locations would be by your own vehicle but by prior arrangement I can transport up to 3 students with myself. Travel insurance and camera insurance also not included.
